Embarking on Discovery: Hong Kong Students Begin Hainan Space Journey

Organized by the PoD Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Path of Democracy (PoD) and the Joint Committee for the Promotion of The Constitution And Hong Kong Basic Law, the Hainan Space Journey program officially commenced today. Supported by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission through the "HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Exchange in the Mainland," the program includes nearly 50 teachers and students from Jockey Club Man Kwan EduYoung College, Yuen Long Merchants Association Secondary School, and PoD fellows, under the leadership of PoD convener Mr. Ronny Tong. The group will embark on a four-day itinerary from 25 to 28 July 2025.

The first stop for the exchange group will be Wenchang, Hainan, where participants will visit key aerospace research facilities, including the Wenchang Aerospace Supercomputing Center, the Wenchang Aerospace Science Centre, the Hainan Commercial Spacecraft Launch Site, and the Hainan Aerospace Engineering Breeding Research Center. Participants will witness firsthand the achievements of national aerospace technology. The itinerary also features visits to historical landmarks such as the Wenchang Confucius Temple and the former site of the Qiongya Revolutionary Base, enriching their understanding of Hainan's cultural heritage.

This space learning journey provides Hong Kong secondary students with valuable insights into the burgeoning development of the country's space industry. Through these on-site visits, participants will experience advancements in national technology, enhancing their sense of national identity and pride.
