Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership

Are you interested in public policy and political management? Or looking for a means to build a public affairs network? Check out the Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership, created jointly by the Hong Kong Academy of Politics and Public Policy and HKU SPACE.

Half-tuition scholarship will be available for the first ten applicants who have obtained their first Bachelor’s degree within the last 5 years. People with special needs may be eligible for receiving tuition waivers.

Field Trip to Geospatial Lab and The HKFYG Leadership Institute

Since the waves of the epidemic came, we have stayed in our homeland this recent year, but we still encourage our students to get out of their comfort zone. HKAPP held a field trip to Geospatial Lab and The HKFYG Leadership Institute where two places are about Hong Kong’s future foundation policy. Thank you to all the guest speakers for explaining and sharing the practice of geospatial data application and youth training experience with us.

Graduation Ceremony for the fourth Cohort of the Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership
Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership, the joint programme by Hong Kong Academy of Politics and Public Policy (HKAPP) and HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), held its 4th graduation ceremony today (18 June 2022). We were honoured to have Dr. Allan Zeman, the Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group, as the Guest of Honor for the graduation ceremony.
Dr. Allan Zeman believed that this programme, jointly offered by HKAPP and HKU SPACE, could nurture more talents with ambitions, visions and quality for expanding the political talent pool of Hong Kong.
The honorary patron of HKAPP, Mr Ronny Tong also addressed the ceremony. He thanked all renowned lecturers for expanding political visions and enriching knowledge in politics of all our students. He was pleased to see all graduates were students of quality and came from various backgrounds. Their occupations included legal professionals, financial industry, education and public administration. Mr Tong believed that by providing a cross-industry and cross-political spectrum platform, we could enhance the standard of new political participants gradually and witness a quality breakthrough for Hong Kong politics.

Graduation Ceremony for the Third Cohort of the Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership
The graduation ceremony for the third cohort of the Senior Executive Diploma in Political Leadership, a programme jointly organized by HKAPP and HKU SPACE, took place on 19 June 2021 under the witness of the honorary guest of the ceremony, Mr Alfred Sit Wing-hang, JP, Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Prof. Edward Chen Kwan-yiu, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of HKU SPACE and Mr Ronny Tong Ka-wah, the honorary patron of HKAPP.
We sincerely wish the graduates every success in their future endeavours and on their paths to contributing to the betterment of Hong Kong’s political culture and the promotion of high-quality democracy.

Meeting with Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Casper Tsui

The Academy invited the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Casper Tsui to explain to us the daily work of the Home Affairs Bureau, including culture, sports, grasping the public opinions, and the Information Department. When answering questions from our classmates, the Secretary also shared his personal experience in politics, his experience in entering the government, and the biggest challenges currently faced.

Meeting with Chief Secretary for Administration at the Central Government Offices

The Academy had the honour to visit the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung at the Central Government Offices. Having heard a presentation on Path of Democracy’s latest findings on the ‘One Country Two Systems Index’, Mr Cheung led an insightful exchange with students and shed light on their enquiries on the future of innovation and technology, youth development, future centres and the national education in Hong Kong.
